THE SERVICE

We provide a press-studding service, supplying and machine applying studs, also known as snaps and poppers. We offer two styles:

  • Standard metal press studs: One size, approximately 14mm, available in a variety of finishes.
  • Ring (prong) press studs: Predominantly using one size, approximately 10mm, suitable for lightweight fabrics only (Limited stock for smaller sizes – call us to check availability).

Please Note: We currently cannot apply custom press studs, only our own components.

HIGH-RISK GARMENTSWe do not press-stud PVC/plastic finishes, lightweight fabrics, knits, netting, lace, unstabilized jersey, or other stretch fabrics. Additionally, we may not press-stud leather, pleather, wadded materials, or brocade.

PREPARATION

Please send your garments and/or fabric correctly marked. Accompany your items with an ORDER FORM detailing placement and style finishes.

Marking

For press studs you need to mark a dot, with chalk or pencil, where the two parts will press together.

  • male component (the bottom/underneath part) = mark on the FACE SIDE (outside)
  • female component (the top/surface seen part) = mark on the WRONG SIDE (inside)

A helpful hint: use post-it notes or safety pins to highlight where the markings are.

Double-check your markings, as once applied, they are permanent. Please note that the machine requires access to both sides of the fabric for applying the components. If you are designing a concealed press stud, ensure that access remains open for proper application.

Press Studs have 4 components = upper Cap + male part that connects to the female part + back grommet.
Metal cap & ring prong styles

NO PINS in the garments/fabric.

  2. leave access points open
  3. fuse thin or stretchy fabrics (organza, lightweight silks, leather/PU, PVC, jersey and knitted are unsuitable)
  4. loosely tack facings around the area or out of the way to avoid facing slippage.
